To support countries in better addressing such cross-cutting questions, the OECD established the Green Growth and Sustainable Development Forum (GG-SD Forum).
This new initiative aims at bringing together experts from different policy fields and disciplines working on green growth and sustainable development issues, and provides them with an interactive platform for encouraging discussion, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, and easing the exploitation of potential synergies.
By specifically addressing the horizontal multi-disciplinary aspects of green growth and sustainable development, the GG-SD Forum aims to constitute a supplement to the work undertaken in individual government departments and ministries.
A number of the Coalition members took an active role in the Forum discussions and panels including representatives from Global Footprint Network, Vitae Civilis, CANARI, WWF and Oliver Greenfield from the secretariat. Working with other NGOs attending the Forum, the GEC helped to draft a statement representing the voice of civil society.
